VOTE FOR MAYOR OF MAYWOOD

A COMMITTED SERVANT OF THE COMMUNITY

I am Commissioner Dr. Mary “May” Larry, a public servant at heart. I am seeking the position of Mayor/President for the Village of Maywood. I am a Business Professional. I am knowledgeable with federal and state government contracts; I HELPED Maywood Secure the Following:  IDNR YOUTH Grant - $489,600 and the DOJ - COPS Grant - $269,000.  I hosted the Village of Maywood first grant writing training seminar. My family, ‘The Larry's,’ have been residents of Maywood for forty-eight years. My three sisters and two brothers were raised in a single family home by Rev. Tommie Larry, Sr. and Catherine Ann Larry, on 3rd and Warren Avenues in Maywood, Illinois. As general laborers, my parents instilled the values of hard work, discipline and personal responsibility. I attribute my success in the business industry for over 25 years to them.

By age 15, I was already the Assistant Secretary to the Executive Secretary for the Maywood Mayor, my first official job. During high school,  I was also the president of the prayer group at Proviso East High School and I volunteered at the Cook County jail twice a month, speaking to inmates and conducting worship services. One of my major passions in life has been centered on helping struggling teenagers to overcome obstacles. (Click here to read more.)

Sammie B. Rogers, Jr.

VOTE FOR VILLAGE TRUSTEE OF MAYWOOD

A TRUSTED COMMUNITY BUILDER

Sammie's Goals: to the best in whatever my hands touch or do, love God first, keeping Him first in directing my path. I bring to Maywood trust and honesty. Having seen the highs and lows of Maywood, I will work to bring this community that I have called home for so many years to its greatest potential with the help of the people. I want to establish a program to help the seniors in Maywood with taxes so that homes are not lost , and acquire grant money to help fix up their properties. I want to promote the economic growth of this community; acquire a full-line grocery store; support infrastructure, better roads and street safety for our village; institute programs for our youth to avert losing them to the streets; build a skating ring, bowling alley, movie theater, seeing to it that the dollar turns over seven times before it leaves the village, retaining business right here in our own neighborhood.
